While the idea is still overwhelming, the event made the prospect of ownership much less intimidating. I now feel better equipped to know what questions to ask and what to look for as I learn more.
The team at Skylark goes above and beyond for their clients. Physically walking through a space and hearing its origin story was very helpful. It helped me realize what my future practice could look like. We had direct access to dentists who were at different points in their startup journey. Hearing their stories and being able to ask them direct questions was invaluable. It was truly an inspiring day.
On Friday, October 9, we held our first Dental Startup Roadshow. Instead of sitting in a room talking about startups, we went to visit two of them.
I put this event together for dentists who want to understand what it really takes to start a practice. From the outside, the process can feel intimidating. I wanted people to see what it actually looks like.
I represented both practices featured on the Roadshow. Thank you to Dr. Carly Cassleman and Dr. Matt Nye for opening their doors and sharing their experiences so candidly, and to Stefan Green of Bank of America Practice Solutions for joining us.
We hope to make it a recurring event.

Dr. Nye opened Brushery in January 2024 in a new-construction building downtown.
